You are an impressive set of naturalists

With over 30 BRFAL Chapter members of Virginia Master Naturalists in attendance, the class of 2011 graduated!

Due to the summer-timing of the event, only 6 of the 15 in our class were able to attend and receive their certificates. I was in Tybee Island Georgia with my family at the time, or I would have been there with bells on, this is a great group doing great things! Don said "You are an impressive set of naturalists."

The food was great, with many members bringing covered dish specialties. Guy praised the class of 2011 for being excellent students and very interested in the Master Naturalist program.  Certificates were given to the graduates.

What is VMN?

A Community-based Natural Resource Volunteer Program

Virginia Master Naturalists are volunteer educators, citizen scientists, and stewards helping Virginia conserve and manage natural resources and public lands. The process for becoming a certified Virginia Master Naturalist typically takes 6 to 12 months. One starts by completing a40-hour basic training course offered by a local chapter of the program. An additional 8 hours of advanced training are also required. An important part of the certification process is the required 40 hours of volunteer service.
