Do you know this spider?

Budding Virginia Master Naturalists have eyes on everything from macro to micro!
Meg and Rich sent this image to share with us of a spider they saw recently and found very interesting! They snapped this photo in Hardy Virginia.
Recognize me?
Rich said "Since we got this picture from the bottom of the spider, it was a little harder to ID but pretty sure it is a jeweled spider also called a horned orb weaver."

Click here for more images and info on what Meg and Rich believe is this very same spider! Feel free to comment on this blog (below) and share your thoughts!

BRFAL Chapter of Virginia Master Naturalist wants you to get outside, explore and learn something new today. Get involved in something cool, learn more about the Virginia Master Naturalist program here! (Don't forget your camera, you never know what you might spot in the wild!)

  1. I just found one of these outside at my house around the bushes.Thank goodness it's tiny, otherwise it would have scared the devil out of me!
