If you are looking for a way to remember 9/11 and give back - Virginia State Parks will have a Day of Service/Day or Remembrance where everyone can come out and share their patriotism and love for America.
Click here for the article and list of parks. Many people do not realize Virginia was also hit on 9/11 as the Pentagon is in Virginia.

AmeriCorps Member Kelsey Kennedy is planning a Cove Clean-up by Canoe program from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Volunteers will venture out onto the lake by canoe and help clean trash and debris from the coves along the park's shoreline. Other volunteer opportunities include helping at the canoe launch site. This will include loading and unloading trash from canoes and onto trailers. Other volunteers will be needed to help prepare lunch for the participants.
