Birds dying from contaminated feeders

An outbreak of salmonella appears to have hit one of B.C.'s most recognizable species of songbirds.
As part of our Virginia Master Naturalist Basic Training section on Ornithology we discussed the pros and cons of backyard bird feeders.

One of the things that was discussed was bacteria and disease being spread from the feeder to other birds. I had never thought about that before.
