BRFAL Chapter Members at the 2011 Statewide Conference:

Overview

All Virginia Master Naturalist volunteers are invited to join us at the Virginia Museum of Natural History and Fairy Stone State Park, for our 4th Virginia Master Naturalist Statewide Volunteer Conference and Training!
This event is an annual opportunity for VMN volunteers to share ideas and learn from each other, to participate in high-quality advanced training sessions, and to learn about a region of Virginia that may be different from their home communities.  It’s a time and place to recognize and reward volunteers and chapters for all their efforts.
The 2012 conference is hosted by the Southwestern Piedmont Chapter, whose home base is Martinsville and Henry County.   This area and the surrounding region in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains feature the Smith River, Philpott Lake, Turkeycock Wildlife Management Area, and Fairy Stone State Park.
This year, the conference will be divided between two venues.  On Friday evening and Saturday, all sessions will be at the Virginia Museum of Natural History in Martinsville.  Saturday supper and Sunday sessions will be at Fairy Stone State Park, a 30 minute drive from the museum.  Participants must drive or carpool between the locations; we will not have buses.  Participants may choose between lodging at a hotel in Martinsville near the museum or at Fairy Stone.  Lodging at Fairy Stone includes shared cabins or camping.  Please see the lodging page of this site for more details about each option.

Registration Deadlines

Early bird registration ends July 15.  All registrations close August 6  (one month prior)!  Register as early as possible to get your choice of sessions, all of which have limited availability.
