Launch of the America's State Parks Ambassador Recruitment Campaign

VIRGINIA STATE PARKS IS A SPONSORING AGENCY FOR THE VIRGINIA MASTER NATURALIST PROGRAM. MANY OF OUR PROJECTS HAVE BEEN IN SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE STATE PARK OR FAIRY STONE STATE PARK.

Director Joe Elton would like to share this with you:
Ambassadors are citizen voices age 16-28 who will write articles, showcase photos and create videos about their visits to state parks.  As we have seen in the past, Ambassador blogs are some of the most compelling and exciting reports about the fun and excitement one can have recreating in a state park.
If you haven’t seen the work of Ambassadors or haven’t visited the website in a while, I think you’ll be impressed with how it has evolved – check it out at www.AmericasStateParks.org.
Some state park directors may remember Clint Bowers – one of our early Ambassadors –  who presented on the Ambassador program at Custer State Park in South Dakota.  Clint is the spokesman in the first recruitment video.  He is a great young leader in the program.  Check out the new recruitment video at
http://www.americasstateparks.org/Recruit-Ambassadors.

Please help us spread the word about the Ambassador program and drive people to the website.  You are free to share the website and the recruitment video with anyone.  I’ll be featuring it on
www.virginiastateparks.govwww.virginiaoutdoors.org and the Virginia Association for Parks will be featuring it at www.virginiaparks.org

Our parks are an essential part of American life and our Park Ambassadors will help drive a new generation of park users to them.  If we all push this campaign, we will have our 2,000 Ambassadors on board by the spring and be enjoying rich, innovative content about park activities, programs and resources.  Having 2,000 more voices advocating for parks is very exciting.
Thanks for your help in promoting this campaign!
