Info update from Meg B:
On Monday Nov. 24th BRFAL members Shellie L, Kathy S, Dick H, Carl B and wife Linda, and myself Meg B got together at Mariners Landing to decorate a tree to enter in their Parade of Trees which will be on display until Dec. 20th!  Charlotte H made a heap of ornaments and decor for the tree and was unable to be there for the set up (but she was in spirit!)
Our tree was “Christmas for the Critters” and in lieu of an artificial tree, Kathy brought a large bare-branch tree in a stand.
It was an invasive privet, so no native trees were harmed in this activity!
We then decorated the tree with edible ornaments including: cranberry/popcorn garlands, nut garlands, acorns, oranges stuffed with peanut butter and birdseed; strung pretzels and ritz crackers, pine cones coated with seeds, berries, dried apples, seed pods and more and finished off with a burlap tree skirt covered with acorns, nuts and a birds nest.   We loved our natural and non-traditional tree entry.

"YES VIRGINIA THAT IS RUNNING CEDAR!"

The first prize is $300 so please go see all the trees entered by different community non-profit groups and vote for your favorite. We  hope ours will be your favorite of course!

...and don't forget to enter the drawing for a cool gift basket from Mariners Landing!
