Honoring Black History Month here in Virginia, here is a short video on a mostly impoverished black community in Bayview Virginia and how the Nature Conservancy got involved. I hope this short video will touch you! We're all in this together!
The Nature Conservancy |
Things had gotten so bad in Bayview, a small community in Southeastern Virginia, people were living in third-world conditions with no running water or sewage systems. Working together with The Nature Conservancy, the residents of Bayview developed a plan to chart a course forward, for both the people and the landscape. Alice Coles, Executive Director of Bayview Citizens for Social Justice says, "Protecting yourself, protecting your environment, gave us the edge in building our community."
This film was created by Wondros.
