It is edible mushroom season as folks begin to
see the first morels.
Connie H spotted this one above in her usual hunting grounds and she says, “They like
soil around old apple trees and are found in the woods where there used to be
old apple orchards or an old homeplace from history where an apple tree grew. They
are quite tasty (and people are) known to hike 2 or three miles into the woods
and try to find them.”
