One of our members, Herbert
William "Herb" Mocksfield, 88, of Moneta, went to be with the Lord on
Friday, April 17, 2020. Herb and his late wife Marilyn spent much time and
energy establishing and monitoring the Blue Bird Trail at Booker T. Washington
National Monument.
His obituary in the
Roanoke Times states; “Herb enjoyed the outdoors and would spend much of his
time visiting the Booker T. Washington National Park and Blue Bird Trail with
Marilyn. His love of the outdoors led him to become a Master Naturalist of the
BRFAL Division.”
A private memorial service
will be held. Jennifer, our chapter secretary, will be sending condolences to Herb's family. For more information visit https://www.roanoke.com/obituaries/mocksfield-herbert-william/article_291cebe7-8de8-51ef-b22f-46e3bc920e0a.html .
