Many thanks to Gael Chaney SWVA Piedmont Chapter for sharing her knowledge of upcoming continuing education opportunities with us in BRFAL Chapter. Programs Gale has highlighted are below:
·
This is a reminder that the fall series of "Plant Virginia
Natives" Webinars begins September 1. If you registered last spring, you
are already registered for this fall and probably have already received the
link for the webinar this Wednesday. It's not too late to sign up; if you do,
you will also receive links to the recordings of the spring sessions. Cost is
just $10 for the entire series. https://www.plantvirginianatives.org/webinars-landscaping-with-virginia-natives
·
Blue Ridge PRISM (Partnership for Regional Invasive Species
Management) is offering fall invasive plant workshops. There is a series of two
webinars on September 21 and 23 that costs $15. There are also two dates and
locations for a single-session in-person field workshop, which costs $25. Find
out all the details here: https://blueridgeprism.org/prism-events/
·
This year's VMNP state conference will be virtual, October 1-3.

In addition we have the chance to
hear our own BRFAL experts, Rick Watson, as he presents a geology program for
the Phoebe Needles Center, Inc. Center for Lifelong Learning. The presentation
is on November 9, 2021, “Why Does Virginia Terrain and Plant
Life Look Like it Does? Answer, Geology!”
Registration
information can be found at: https://www.phoebeneedles.org/programs/center-for-lifelong-learning/
. There is a fee for the program and lunch is included.
This
program is approved by BRFAL for 2 hours of continuing education credits.
Consider
checking out this beautiful Franklin County location and the resources it
offers.
