Clean Valley Day is Saturday - what does that mean?

Roanoke Outside Shares:
Clean Valley Day is Saturday - what does that mean?

Twice a year the Clean Valley Council organizes a valley-wide trash cleanup of our parks, trails, and rivers and this Saturday (April 13) is the spring cleanup.

People have two ways to get involved:
  • On your own accord ... go fill a trash bag, or two.
  • Join the official 34th annual Clean Valley Day event. The event kickoff celebration begins at 8:30 a.m. at Vic Thomas Park followed by clean ups at locations all over the Roanoke Region. This valley-wide clean up promotes respect and dedication to the beautiful community we share. It's a great team-building opportunity for corporations and organizations, and a great way to teach your kids about community service.  So pick your spot -- a park, playground, roadside, stream bank, or your very own neighborhood -- and get started. The Clean Valley Council only asks that you register in advance. They will even provide volunteers with trash bags and gloves.
Let's do our part to keep the outdoors beautiful!

You can do this wherever you are this Saturday!
Bring some trash bags along when you go on a hike this weekend!  This information brought to you by Pete E from RoanokeOutside.com Visit this site to see all the fantastic recreation in this area!
